Volunteer at Pets Alive

Pets Alive relies on the help of volunteers to care for the hundreds of animals within our care. You can make a huge difference in the lives of these animals by volunteering even a few hours.
Sponsor a Pet!

Volunteers are invited to apply to work in our various animal care areas (cats, dogs and farm animals), event planning and fundraising, property and maintenance, and other tasks such as doing laundry, vehicle maintenance, running errands, transportation to and from veterinary appointments, cleaning and organizing our storage areas and other odd jobs. Skilled volunteers are always needed such as licensed electricians, plumbers, carpenters and experienced groomers, as well.

Volunteers are also needed to join the following teams and help us grow these programs throughout our community: Adoption Offsite Events, Pet Chow Pantry, TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return), Special Events, Adoptions, and Dog Adoptability Improvement.

Volunteer Hours (once you have attended an orientation):
Monday – Saturday from 10:00am-4:00pm
Sunday from 11:00am-4:00pm

New Volunteers / Orientations:
Anyone wishing to volunteer must first attend a general volunteer orientation class that provides the policies and procedures of the facility along with the safety rules for the protection of both you and the animals. These classes do require enrollment as we try to keep the classes limited in size to address individual questions appropriately.

In the orientation, you will take a tour of our facility and we will go over the different programs that we have to offer. There are so many ways that people can help out at our facility, in the comfort of their own home, and throughout their own communities.

If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up by visiting our volunteer platform and create a profile. Once you have created your profile, simply click on "Opportunities" on the top menu bar, scroll down to the New Volunteer Orientation section, click on the "New volunteer Orientation" link and sign up for a date of your choosing. You MUST complete an orientation before you can volunteer.

**Please note we love Junior volunteers and there is plenty for kids to do, but to walk dogs you must be 18 years of age. Additionally, Junior volunteers must have a parent or guardian with them at all times while on property. Both child and parent/guardian must have individual profiles in the volunteer portal.
