In December, 2008, Lily, a young dog, came to Pets Alive, Inc. in Middletown, NY after being pulled from Animal Care & Control of NYC (AC&C) where her fate was uncertain. Lily was only at the sanctuary for a few weeks when she was adopted. Life was good for Lily for 5 years – until the couple split up and could no longer care for Lily. She was brought back to Pets Alive and was adopted again a few months later, but after a few short months, circumstances were such that the family was not able to keep Lily – and she once again came back to Pets Alive in November 2014. She was adopted once again earlier in 2016 but that didn’t work out either. Luck just hasn’t been on this sweet girl’s side.
Since that time, staff and volunteers continued to work with Lily, to help her overcome her loneliness. She is a quiet girl who takes a bit of time to warm up to new people and situations. She loves playing in the water on a hot day, taking walks and snuggling close to the people she loves. And she loves to ride in a car!
Lily, who is now over 10 years old, desperately wants a family to call her own. If you have the time to get to know this sweetheart and gain her trust, she can be your new best friend. She would do best in a home without young children or cats. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Lily, please fill out an online application and come for a visit.
